I'm so excited to rekindle my love for fitness and wellness. If you've been following the blog, you know that I've been desperately trying to focus on my WITY's and wellness is one of my top three. DadLife Fitness is a program designed for the busy dad life. As a new dad I understand that time is a premium and is always in short supply. As fathers we put of family first, which often means putting our own wellness on the back burner. Although we mean well, we really aren't doing our family any favors by not taking care of ourselves. You can't fill anyone's glass if the pitcher is empty. That's why I created this program. The program includes four primary workouts, each designed to be time-budget conscious. As a whole, the program will work your entire body across various modalities and energy systems. The goals of DadLife Fitness is to help dads (and moms) to achieve wellness and a functional base of fitness that allows you to be active with your kids. So, what does the program look like? Each week The Involved Dad will post the entire week's workouts. The week will include four primary workouts, labeled A, B, C, D, two walking workouts, labeled W, and one rest day. Its your job to check them all off by the end of the week. Schedule them how you choose. You know your schedule the best, so do the workouts when it works for you and your family. Unlike other programs, that are very rigid in regards to when you need to do their workouts (chest on mondays, back on tuesdays, etc), the DadLife Fitness program understands what a parent's schedule really looks like. Just try not to go more than two days without doing one of the four workouts unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise, you can get as creative as your schedule demands. Some examples of a week include: A, W, B, W, C, Rest, D; or B, W, A, Rest, C, W, D; or A, B, C, W, W, D, Rest. The possibilities are endless. The take away is that DadLife Fitness is for Dads (and Moms): - with busy schedules that need a program that can adapt with their ever changing time constraints needs. - that want to be able to keep up with their kids and make memories. - that are ready to redefine their Dad bod
