Bringing home a new born can be a lot to get used to and anything to make the transition smoother is more than welcome. In our day and age, a lot of that comes in the form of technology. And "hey, there's an app for that." So far in our journey, the Misses and I have found a few apps to be extremely helpful. I'll list them below and talk a little bit about the app. I'm not getting paid by any of these companies. These are just honest reviews about apps that we use and like. FamCal- FamCal is an app that allows you to keep track of your appointments, grocery lists, to-do lists, and also allows you to make memos for the day. The best part of the app is that you can share this with the people that matter. For us, this is an awesome way to communicate with each other. My favorite part is the shopping list. Everything updates automatically, so if I add milk to the shopping list, my wife can see it at the store. If she buys something from the list, she can check it off the list and I'll know she picked it up. You can also make shared to-do lists, as well as keep your own to-do list. The calendar feature is also handy because it will sync whichever calendar you allow from your phone and share it with the family. The "Today" view makes it easy to view all your family's appointments, shopping lists, to-do list and more. Give it a shot.

Glow Baby Newborn Tracker- Glow baby is actually part of a bigger family of apps that can be used to track pregnancy, ovulation, menses, and of course, newborn care. This app is amazing. It helps you to log and time all aspects of your baby's care. It has everything, a sleep timer, breast feeding timer (allows for tracking of individual breast time), diaper log with poop descriptions and notes, bottle and formula tracking, weight tracking, height tracking, head circumference tracking, temperatures, meds, and more. You can view all this info on a super easy to read chart that allows you to see patterns and changes from day to day, or a detailed list. The best part about the app is that it allows multiple parents to track and view the log. It syncs automatically so everyone stays up-to-date. In addition, you can also track multiple kids. The in-app forum is also very active and filled with questions and answers from other parents. This is defiantly a must have.

Spotify- Spotify has been around for some time now and I think most people are familiar with it. If you don't know what it is, its an app that allows you to pretty much listen and download all the music, podcasts, etc that you'd like. There is a free version, but the premium subscription is reasonable and I recommend it. Anyway, The reason Im mentioning spotify now is because you can use it to play various white noises to hep you little one sleep. They the classic static sounding ones, to actual womb sounds. Search and download your favorite and have them anytime and anywhere.

Netflix- If your little one is anything like mine, you will not be able to put her down to sleep at all. After two weeks, we just now, started being able to put our little one down to sleep. Read a little about that here. So, when its your turn to hold baby for a sleep, its really nice to be able to put your headphones in and watch some Netflix. The great part is, Netflix allows you to download movies and episodes now. So can have them qued up and ready to go.

Give these apps a try and let me know what you think. Also, if you have any app that you found particularly helpful, please share.
